Sadistic War Song by Melina Raven Maness DieboldA sad black rose, wilting, dying
sheds a satin petal
Sadness floats, whispering words of pain,
dire and dismal echoes of pretended peace
I watch helplessly as shadows die,
perishing, not mourned for or regretted,
like sad, unwanted sheep
burdensome and dispensable
Their corpses
mangled
mingled
Each rotting body,
bathed in the blood of the thousand's lost before them
Homeless souls
forever seeking a sanctuary
a paradise
a Utopian society
Free of opppression
Free of hatred
But they were unlucky
unfortunate
they were overcome
Our supposed knights of peace rode in
gallantly on our grinding, metal stallions
Marching in cadence
We surrounded all
We consumed all
We destroyed all
like a swarm of locusts
But let's cheer them on
Let's wave our banner
The white for their pale, unliving faces
The red for the arid rivers of blood, streaked across
their body
The blue for the blunt and yet now painless bruises
All hail the land of the brave.
