Pleading With the Wind

by Melina Raven Maness Diebold

Some things in life
are too gentle to be grabbed at
You must sit and wait
hoping life's breezes
to blow it your way
Into your arms, you hope it falls,
careful not to rip it, not to tear it,
not to destroy it
Gingerly, tenderly, softly
Perhaps the next gust of wind shall
triumph.
