A Mistress's Repentance from the Grave

by Melina Raven Maness Diebold

Every chance, every glance
I received from you
filled me with fantastic thrills
I derived sick pleasure in seeing you squirm
Now that we are both long and gone
and I've had time to think
I realize many different things
like how I
who gave you so much pleasure
was not buried beside you
Like how your meek, ordinary wife
now lies slumbering
decaying, silently at your side
oblivious to your treason
