What happened to that child
Reaching for the
Bright ornaments
And glistening, tinseled branches?

Has she forgotten all of the gifts
Wrapped by loving hands?

Why is she so quick
To disbelieve in St. Nick
And all his jolly elves?

Should we search for answers
In her or are
We the ones to blame?
