All That Razza-Ma-Tazz

by Jane E Pearce

I remember ragtime music
under the stars, boater
hats, and vintage cars,
and all that razza-ma-tazz.

A tall handsome mister,
a cute ardent miss,lips
close enough to kiss,
and all that razza-ma-tazz.

Racoon coats, flasks
for the hips, soft
pressing of eager lips,
and all that razza-ma-tazz.

Wedding bells pealed
to ragtime's beat, two
hearts joined and complete,
and all that razza-ma-tazz.

Now, all that remains
through the years,two hearts
separated, and funeral tears,
and all that razza-ma-tazz.
