While I wasn't looking,
The Sun went away
And took most of its light
When it left. And now
I am left alone, under
A darkening sky with
My darkening thoughts.

I don't know when the world
Changed so drastically;
Perhaps it was when
I was too self involved
To notice the world around me.

Suddenly everyone is going
Somewhere, though no one
Has yet told me where.

Maybe one day I will learn
To accept that sometimes,
Some things have nothing
Whatsoever to do with me,
And I will stop wondering why
People keep such things from me.

Or maybe I will make
The effort to find out
And do something for a change.
