Bring Forth The Rain

by Jacki M Butler

And so it begins
Rain pounding my skull
Filling my hands with water
Filling my heart with emptiness
Streaming down my face
Rolling off my skin
Repeatedly piercing my skin
The coldness of the drops
Will I ever be
In a dry, warm, safe place again?

yes...sometimes the raindrops make one feel as though they are drowning and oppresed...but sometimes they can refresh and wash the pain away with them, bringing rainbows...

This is such a genuine portrayal of sadness...I can feel every drip of it as I read it again and then again. Well chosen POTD! —Jill

Congratulations for poem of the day Jacki. Rain is a pain over hill or over plain, unless you are running out of water. ~(8^D)=(....Charlie
