Do you ever wonder
what it is
that makes you "YOU"?
Is it your heart,
your way of thinking,
the things you do?
Is it people,
family, friends,
and others too?

Are you influenced
by what they think of you?

For a long time
that was something
I would do.
Live up to their expectations
make their dreams for me
come true.

What a fool I was
an expert at feeling blue
I wasn't being me
