Death Has No Grip

by Adrian Calhoun

I watch as so many people try,
try uselessly,
to hide from death.

They have surgeries,
take all kinds of pills,
and eventually start exercising.
All they are really doing,
is prolonging the same end result.
It is like saying the sun shines
in the darkness, with a flashlight.

I tell you this;
there is no fear of death on my part.
All death can steal from us is time,
which is what all those people are really fighting.
Battle against time, a losing effort.

In the end I will embrace death,
face it unafraid, sure, and ready.
Do not get me wrong,
I am in no hurry to die.
When the time comes I will not hide,
because in the end,
death will actually send me home,
and set my soul free.

There is one,
who can give you this same inner peace,
and piece of mind.
The one true, son.
Whom, if you believeth in,
promises everlasting life.

Keep the Faith ...

How very true this is. I love the last stanza, it says it all.MDC
