My Eyes Are Open ( But I Don't Like What I See ) by Jersey D GibsonGive me your poor, your wretched, your huddled masses,
give them security checks, and temporary passes.
"Welcome to America", so says Uncle Sam,
"There are no vacancies, so scram!"
This here is the Land of Opportunity,
but things are getting worse, don't you agree?
Here they come, immigrants by the boatloads,
or in the back of trucks, clogging the roads.
Honest people bicker, Oh, how they whine,
as those immigrants get to be first in line.
Freedoms abundant, look what you have to choose,
but you have nothing to gain, and everything to lose.
Follow our laws, and do what we say,
if you don't, there's hell to pay.
Don't bother changing anything, you won't get far,
they like things exactally where they are.
My eyes are open, but I don't like what I see,
everything has its' price, nothing is for free. 03/19/2002 Posted on 03/19/2002 Copyright © 2025 Jersey D Gibson
