the world is closer now
than it has been
since Ilast crawled
ever humbly
toward my grave.
years ago
when I believed
in death,
and endings
in this great circle,
life chases its own tail,
and niether
death nor endings,
have a chance to take hold.
And I was so removed,
so far away
I thought the world
would never chance
to touch me.
Yet look
how close it is
brushing up against my arm
awakening me
pullling me
out of that grave,
too long dead,
too long lost,
the world wants me near it
within it.
For once I see,
how much love exists,
and how much I am wanted,
and how close
the world is to me.
