Fantasy Island

by Anne Engelen

I feel like a tropical Island
From a distance I’m a dream
My beaches are inviting
They truly gleam

The oceanwaves are constantly flirting
carressing my beaches’sand
Sometimes hard, but never hurting
I am a beautiful piece of land

Further inward I’m afforest
by an abundancy of natural wealth
Lots of greens and tiny streams
a little protected commonwealth

I’m a safe place
Completely secured
A harbour for troubles endured

Out there, I’m just a little spot
Hard to find on a map
Lost in the immensity
of a bigger plot
