An eternal moment between the dreams and the death.

by Ashok Sharda

The horror of death loomed large
Amidst the transition of incessant dreams-
Alluring, repeating and pregnant with hopes
Uncertain I shuttle between the two-
The dreams and the death
Looking in and out
For just one moment
Which I know
The dreams cannot allure
The death cannot transcend
Which is eternal
This very moment.

The horror of our situation is so clear upon reading this piece of yours, “uncertain I shuttle between the two-the dreams and the death” – dreams, mere visions pregnant with hope propped up against death’s merciless inevitability…where in this picture is Life? As you have so boldly revealed, the living lies in that “eternal moment between…This very moment”. Stunningly beautiful poem dear Ashok. All that black on our page saved by that one elusive spot of light in the middle...it's there and we are not. The moment we ARE there, we ARE. Beautiful.
