Sensory Deprivation by Howard F FarewellThe smell
still smells so near
so close I won't soon forget
a closeness
few have known
and even fewer cherished
eyes close and you
seem right there
eyes open
and the grim reality hits
that of a nothingness in my arm
that once held you
that sweet smell
more than a fragrance
more than a mere memory
but that wonderful beauty
that reeks of home. 03/10/2002 Posted on 03/10/2002 Copyright © 2024 Howard F Farewell
