Hurt Remains by Richard VinceThere she stood
Shuffling cards
Watching the traffic passing
And I watched her
As I sailed past
The sky was grey
The light was fading
The bus was late
The day was
Was demoralising
Watery grey covered the horizon
And the brown leaves lay dead
Beneath the trees
Where there were trees
Her blank stare spoke to me
But I couldnt hear what it said
Over the din of my self pity
Bless me Father, for I have sinned
I have coveted
Been possessive
Hurt one that I love
That I say I care for
Please forgive me
Then maybe she will too
And the light falling upon me fades
And I am fading fast
Caught, trapped
Falling into nothing and nowhere
I dont want to hurt again
Please never let me
I love too much to hurt
Or maybe too much not to? 10/22/2000 Posted on 03/09/2002 Copyright © 2025 Richard Vince
