The clouds

by Amy Niggel

The amazement of a child
as he stares at the rolling clouds
and I see them again today
for the first time in fourteen years
and there are shapes
and lives
and wonders like I have never seen in the sky today
no movie
no painting
can do it justice
this
deepest blue sky
and ever changing landscape of clouds
like a whole other world
lieing
well floating
right above my head
those clouds
I stared at in childhood
the ones I found the meaning of life in
when I was only six years old
how clear it all was back then
just like that sky
and today
a six year old
reminded me to look at the clouds
and there it was again
the power
the passion
the clarity
that sky
it reminded me of why I am alive today
that six year old
gave me back
the meaning of life.
