Burning Rage by James A HoltEvery time I'm ridiculed
The fire burns within.
My muscles tense
My teeth clench
My whole body goes numb.
I try to control my rage
Keep it deep inside
I hide behind a mask of smiles and jokes
So none can see.
But every time someone comments,
Hurting me with words of hate,
Idiot, Dumbass, Retart
Images flash before my eyes
Of harsh words,
A broken,
Bloodied face with
Blood caked fists,
Things I could never take back.
The fire inside can hurt everyone
Anyone who tries to cause pain.
That is why I am like a child
For if the fire inside
Were to be released.....
God help us all.
