I Knew Their Names by Jessica A SteenbockI saw the stars so close.
This way and that I moved,
No closer, not one step.
Slowly swept backwards
'til my stars were far away...
Into oblivion my stars went untouched
Before each one I had known by name
Now every one is the same
The North no different from the South
One star now made of three or four...
A grey black cloud blankets my sky
My stars pretend to sleep
Peeking at me form bhind
Teasing ans taunting me
Sleeping just out of my reach...
The stars are no longer mine
I had had them long ago
In a time when I knew them each by name
In a beautiful place so far away
Once upon a cloud when I believed...
