Stone Passage

by Lori I Wolfe

I walk through a dark passage
so cold ... damp ... and empty
faces stretching ... twisting
all reaching through the stone

My screams are silent
eyes trapped in shadows
Lost but still searching
crying without tears ...

Blood drains from my viens
the stones quench their thirst
My soul hides deeper ...
in shadows that block the view

Time slips with each grain
I pray the feeding to end ...
Please just leave a drop or two
so I may build once again ...
