Little Spirit

by Lori I Wolfe

A little spirit was peeking over the edge of heaven looking down on a land far below. God came up behind the little one to peek over the edge with him.
"I am afriad." Whispered the little one
"But there is nothing to be afraid of my child."
"But who will take care of me, love me? I will be all alone." A tear drop fell from his eye and slipped off the edge of the cloud.
"Oh don't worry my child for I shall not send you to be all alone, I will give you a guardian angel to watch over you."
The little one looked up at God and smiled. In the land far below, cries of a woman were heard in the heavens. Cries of pain that were filled with such great happiness.
God stood tall as he smiled at his child.
"It is time for you to go now. I am sending you into a world of learning. I want you to learn as much as you can. I want you to feel and to love as much as you can. Then one day I will call you home again and you can share with us what you have learned."
The little spirit stood peeking below the heavens then back up at God once again. Panic over took him as he reached out for God's hand. God took hold of the shakened hand and kissed his child upon the head.
"Remember, don't be afraid you will have your guardian angel to look after you and to love you with all of her heart."
With a tear in the young spirits eyes he whispered, "but what should I call this angel of mine?"
As God began to send his child he smiled, "oh that is quite an easy one to remember, 'tis so simple ... You will call her Mother."
The young spirit smiled up into his angels eyes and as he waved good-bye to God ... "Mother..." he whispered to himself and smiled.

I have always loved this story and wanted to share it with you!!! I am not sure who thought up the original and I changed it a bit but I hoped you liked it. Have a wanderful day!!
