Book Of Life (Why Can't It Close)

by Jacki M Butler

Funny you should answer,
It has been months.
Maybe I will regret it,
This door I just opened.
Wide open, welcoming it all back.
What have I done,
But start the next chapter in my life.

I swore to never turn that page.
To put the book down,
Walk away from it all.
To not re-open it,
With welcome arms and kind words.
What have I done,
But maybe cause ruin to myself

I seek to hurt myself,
And all that I care about.
Try as I may,
I never fail.
I will turn that page,
I will go to the next chapter
And I certainly will move on,
Not away, and not surely, but likely
End that page in pain and ruin.
