On Valentines Day ( My Resolution)

by Amy Niggel

If I risk my heart,
it will likely be broken,
If I do not,
then I will never know,
If I tell you I love you,
on valentines day,
can you write it off as a joke?
Me who hates that holiday more than any other?
Can you look at me and think
'God she must be losing it'?
I will risk it all,
so very very much,
And I will risk it all
to tell you
that I may have closure
and if it ruins you
then I am sorry
and if it hurts you
I appologize,
but I need to know
so you need to hear it.
If you break my heart,
I'll survive,
if it kills our friendship
I will perish
on Valentines day,
damn holiday,
I will tell you
and let you figure it out
for yourself.

Ahh, the risks we take to love and be loved in return. I like this poem, and I dislike valentine's day!
