Sometimes I look for you
And you become a human 404
But sometimes you find me
When all I want is to get away
And try to forget...

Old dreams always find me
Completely unprepared for the memory
Of a time when the world was different
And I was different
And my eyes saw different colours
And my ears heard different tunes
And my heart was free of your chains

The sunsets will be back soon
And I'll be gone...
They'll take me away again
Into a world of beautiful evenings
And a city of magenta
But not away from you

Because I know I can never escape
Because your claws are in my skin
And I bleed every time you look at me
Soon I will be cold and lifeless
And empty body lying in the wilderness

But at least the pain will have gone
And you'll be free from me
Free to forget me
And cast me out of your heart forever
Like you've always wanted to
I wouldn't mind being free
And anyway it was getting a bit crowded

But now that I can breathe again
I'm not sure I want to any more
