I keep thinking (Dangerous Habit)

by Vikki Owens

I keep thinking you
are going to
walk back in,
turn around so that I
can see your face
and not the
back of our lives
walking away from me...

I keep thinking
that when I fall down
its not me thats
falling
not our hearts that
are falling
with my faintness,
not the arms of your
love reaching out
to me only
to find me limp
with my eyes rolling back
into your concern....

Somehow things seem
better when
Im alone, my mind can
make things prettier
than they are in
real-time...
and when you say
you can see my bones,
I can re-edit it to
make the tones
less disapproving.
