you know that God is loving you when... by Mary Ellen Smith
you know that God is loving you
when spring is in the air.
when tender shoots of green
push through defrosted ground,
and buds are bursting all around,
you know that God is loving you.
you know that God is loving you
when morning dew is warm.
when sunshine smiles its melody
back from winter's icy bite,
the coldness of a starless night,
you know that God is loving you.
you know that God is loving you
when trees regain their dress.
when naked harshness blushes
at wind worn wrinkled bark,
and suddenly its not so dark,
you know that God is loving you.
you know that God is loving you
when birds burst out in song.
when busy mother bluebirds sing
gathering for a nest,
all her lullabies, her best.
you know that God is loving you. 02/04/2002 Posted on 02/04/2002 Copyright © 2025 Mary Ellen Smith

you know God is loving you when,
it's beautiful, simply beautiful. |
