My Wife, My Angel, My Love

by Adrian Calhoun

It used to be the hardest thing I did,
waking up each day to face life.
I barely survived,
and nearly died, more than once.
I made things difficult for myself
much more than I realized.

A daily diet of cigarettes and alcohol
helped me escape the reality of my life,
and the positions I placed myself in.
Living hard and fast,
I challenged death sometimes,
secretly begging to lose the fight.

Then, in a hospital room,
as I lay broken in pieces,
I saw your face.
An angel, a blessing,
a reason to live,
a reason to change my life.

I fell in love, from the very moment I saw you.
All of a sudden nothing else mattered,
I had to know you!
The chance that you might be my saving grace,
was excuse enough to quit my foolish ways.

We touched on a deeper level,
than I could even imagine.
Only a nurse doing your job,
but you saved my life,
by saving me, from me.

I love you greatly,
and I appreciate you, more than you will ever know.
We have managed to stay afloat
in some very turbulent waters.
We have faced challenges,
greater than either of us alone,
and we are still here, together.

You are my life,
my world,
my reason for each breath.
You are my wife,
and I love you !

What a lucky lady your wife is! What did she do to deserve you? What a beautifully accurate reflection. So heartfelt and emotional! One of my "about us" favourites. I do love YOU, you lucky man. XOXOXO Forever & Always, Angel :P

Hi Adrian, My Wife, My Angel, My Love, It's so beautiful, full of such loving emotionals. And a man not afraid to let it be known. Well, good for you. Your both lucky to have such Precious love like this. Others, like can only long to have it again or renewed it possibly. Having someone that really appreciates ya. Knowing that someone appreciates ya, is a wonderful feeling too. Not to be taked for granted. I'm adding this to my favorites list too.

What a fabulous love poem! There's few things in the world more precious than the love between partners, that's for sure =)
