Promise of Stone

by Adrian Calhoun

My dearest Angel,

For you my love has grown.
Sometimes hard to see,
I want you to know,
that here in my heart,
you shall always be.

Deep inside of us both,
the love shall always burn in our souls.
On our wedding day I took an oath,
I will honour my vows until death do us part.

I will love you forever and always,
until thy last breath.
A promise from me to you,
carved in stone.

Wonderful commitment. Carved in heart as well as stone I think! Oh, that there were more of that kind of commitment in marriages today.
