An Irish Goodbye

by Leah Laiben

what i want now is ireland-
kissing goodbye in the cool morning rain-
an impatient taxi waiting-
-his hand resting on my hand,
my hand resting on my suitcase
just before
putting it in that yellow thief-
knowing we'll never see each other again
(but it was perfect, even still)
what i want now is ireland

A bit sad but a good read nonetheless. =)
