Get out of my mind, I would love to say,
since it seemed orally, we loved to parlay.
We would rant and rave about words we wrote
and in our minds we would take a mental note.
We would share a laugh or two over coffee and food
and speak of our work and smile at the crude.
We would ask ourselves is this who I really want to see?
Is this someone who fills me with something of joyous consistently?
Is this someone for whom, my whole life, I've waited
after all the hours I've sat here and contemplated?
Is this someone the one who will open the lock on my heart
and make all the pain from the past slowly decide to part?
Is this the someone who will touch me so sweet?
Is this the person I've waited my whole life to meet?
Is this just another page of mine to be read at a later date
or is this the someone who was written into the book of my fate?
