Cloud Games

by JD Clay

Lying in the tall grass
It appeared to be
A horse with wings

Without reins I rode that cloud
Beyond the horizon
Swift as the astral wind
That Pegasus

Losing my grip on reality I
Slid down its back and
Landed on my fantasy
Lying
In the tall grass

Nice work Mr. Clay. I too am fascinated by and with clouds. Love the mood, and the imagery so vividly written.

Nice work on the freedom of the mind and how no reins can truly hold the dreamer... thanks for sharing.

Delightful world play and fantastic autobiographical moment... enlightening.

That invisibly cloudy horse with wings is taking me for a ride I'll never forget... Right into and over a rainbow. Into my favorites folder!

oh! Lying in the tall grass, will ever remind me of distant sunfilled hill-tops, ocean scents, wondrous cloud games ... and yet swift as the astral wind I am taken to other cloud games where in my night I enchanted beheld a winged dragon reach for the moon and kiss it. Though I know there is more to your poem than observing games in the sky, today Maestro I shall linger and land in that space where fantasy meets reality and be the dream. Grazie*m.a
