frozen tears
fall through the icy wind
to the pale moonlit snow
freshly fallen from a sky grown cold
with grief
a light breeze stings my face
but I don't notice
or just don't care
I look around at peacefulness
and then back at the earth
which I know is freshly dug
despite the thin white blanket of
frozen tears
