Everytime I See You Falling by Betania TeschYou shimmer
like long forgotten treasure
lost in the sands of my hair
toppling on to my pillow
and I collect you,
keep you in boxes under my bed
and share you with no one.
I polish your body
between my fingers,
cherishing your glow.
You dance
in platinum flame dresses
eyes of burning woodlands
destruction refined and uncontrolled
and scorched skin howling
so I cool you,
ice cubes slipping over pale skin
watery trails left behind
marking the way back from ecstacy
like ribbons in the forest,
but we lost them to our thirsty skin,
shimmering,
dancing,
laughing in gold coated unity. 01/11/2002 Author's Note: one of those poems to no one and everyone...but a siren song nonetheless...
