Bush telegraph

(after the Sydney bush fires)
A a, ga ga, go go go go
I'm calling out to let you know
That I am well and free from fire
Up here upon the telegraph wire.
Our home in the gum tree remains intact
Though the fire came close that is a fact.
Thank you all so much for the cards and things;
When my gizzard's recovered for you I'll sing
Every morning up there in the old gum tree.
Laugh kookaburra, laugh,
That's me!!
