In This Alaska Place

by Ronald A Pavellas

The song birds arrived a few days ago,
Transforming the vast and silent air,
And breathing Spring's life, again, into my body.

And now the sun hangs large all day,
In the clouded, azure, cobalt sky,
Radiating its joyful energy into the warmth-hungry land.

Welcome back, O birds, O sun.
I reap the dividends of winter,
As you pass through my time...

In this Alaska place.
