Mommy

by Angel J McRae

I wish it weren't like this, I wish you and daddy never fought. But I just don't understand why sometimes you can't control your temper. We rarely talk, And when we do it's only unnecessary daily comments. So who's there for me to run to when I cry? When I weep at night Who dries my tears? I fear you'll lose your love for me. How can two people like you and daddy hate each other so much to make me? Did I cause the problems? Was everything a dream come true Before I came ripping into your life pushing reality back where it belongs? Why can't the two of you just get along? One day of absolutely no fighting or cruel comments would be bliss to my fragile soul. But all I do is want new things. You tell me I don't appreciate you, Do you really think that's true? I only want to make you happy... But it's hard. I'm sorry mommy, All I wanted was your love.
