Have you ever stopped to realize
that a whisper isn't just a whisper,
but that it is often more resounding
than the deafening crash of thunder?

and how...
A whisper steals your attention
and then silently drifts away,
igniting your curiousity...
leaving you to wonder?

Haven't you ever noticed
how the boisterous sounds
of our daily routines
go almost insensitively unheard?

and yet...
the subtleness of a gentle morning rain
can deliver us attentive;
inspiring us to give heed
to the unspoken word.

And isn't it shocking
how the unruly sounds of the world
can make us numb to shrills and shrieks,
disregarding the needs of another human fellow?

and still...
the calmness of a kittens purr,
can drown us in its tender, soothing rhythm...
seizing us by our heartstrings,
to effortlessly tame and mellow.

Remember this when you're longing to be heard,
that a whisper isn't such a petty thing.
Bathe others, warmly, in your gentleness,
and discover how loving peace can conquer.

Always touch with tender hand,
always smile with compassionate eyes,
always speak with softened words,
and ...never underestimate
...the power of a whisper.
