How is worth oft measured
by society these days?
Through models, ads, and fortune
and underhanded ways.

But when you leave all this behind
embrace natural places
Disregard the silk veneer
and look in Truth's bright faces

You'll find a better person
beneath the grit and grime
And they will seem more real to you
than at any other time.

If you don't believe me,
and think, perhaps, that I'm insane
Look once more at your loved one
when they've been standing in the rain.

The simple change is slight, but sure
their need makes them much dearer
and when you see them wet and cold,
you only want them nearer.
So when you find yourself confused
by comercialism's blight
Remember how I spoke to you
and explained these things tonight.
