The missing piece...

by Leandra K Brossard

My hope is that I'll someday find
that one piece of myself
That special something, not within
you find in someone else.

My openness and broadened mind
make this, sometimes, a chore
And so I go on searching yet,
past those whom I bore.

Some see in my unconcious mind
things that they do not like
And others turn to hatred simply
out of jealous spite.

I have found few who see in me
some brittle grain of worth
And yet they turn away in light
of my lack of self-worth

I have met others who have found
within me things they like
But they live often far away
and lead a distant life,

So I go searching ever on
as my hope rise and fall
And hope that I will never miss
an answer to my call.

coincidentally, Chris Sorrenti on here has a poem (I think his library here but it's on his own website too) called Missing Pieces. I like yours very much, well done. Nice to meet you.
