Everyone has a child inside,
a small person, unafraid,
of bugs and mud and maple trees
or frogs hiding in the shade.
Everyone's little person
is often very small,
but that doesn't mean
they're less important
than we who are so tall.
Each of these little people
knows each of our inner thoughts.
They teach us how to love and think
and create our own special lots.
They give us the gift of ageless time
and freedom from all chains.
They give us happy smiles to wear
and galoshes for when it rains.
