The Gift Of Christmas by Rosie J BuhrmesterWe have heard the Christmas story
Of a marveled baby's birth
Who was born to man the King of kings
To bring us peace on earth.
This baby lain in swaddling clothes
In a lowly manger came
Into the world on a silent night;
The angels His birth proclaimed.
Angels raised their songs on high
On that still and holy night;
As shepherds on the hillsides stood
In wonder of the sight.
They saw the star of Bethlehem
Brightly shining down
To guide three kings with royal gifts;
As the baby King they found.
They laid their gifts before Him
On reverent bended knee;
With everyone rejoicing,
The newborn King to see.
They came to see the baby King,
Though no earthly crown He wore;
But a light was shining 'round Him
From His haloed head adorned.
And so it was the first Christmas,
The first one to recall;
A gift was given from God's love,
A gift for one and all.
For man received the gift of love
And of everlasting life;
When a babe was born in Bethlehem,
The babe named Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world,
From the time it had begun;
That He gave to us His blessing
And His only begotten Son.
No gift was ever greater
Than the gift God gave to man;
And forever we'll proclaim it
Through each and every land!
No matter how you ponder,
Or no matter what your worth,
No greater gift will you receive
Than the Holy baby's birth.
For it's a gift that's everlasting
God gave to you and me;
This precious gift called Christmas,
And the gift of eternity!
