Valued Treasure

by David R Spellman

This treasure that I have
Was given to me at birth
Though its taken some time
For me to discover its worth

Within this life we lead
Filled with sorrow and joy
Are opportunities to learn
Providing wisdom to employ

Being fortunate to discover
As so many others may not
The meaning of this gift
And the great value its got

You see, a century from now
I believe that I’ll live again
And it will be with my soul
That this new life I did win

And now it's with hope I pray
That I shall see you some
In that once and future
Peaceful kingdom to come
