I Want to Cry Your Tears by Holly H Dunnewhen the evils of this world rip apart your soul
and the stresses of your life begin to take their toll
when the burden that you carry lies heavy on your shoulders
and the rolling mass of anxiety builds up into boulders
when Lady Luck laughs and Dame Fortune jeers
come and find me, ill cry your tears
when you stand isolated, miserable, deserted
and Negativity, Depression and Lonliness are alerted
you've cried away your pain bu its still there inside
its sufocated Hope and all that's good has died
your solitary cry screamed but no one hears
I'll be listening, I'll cry your tears
you're so special, perfect, rare
you cn't suffer, it's not fair
when crystals corrode your cheek and sorrow stains your skin
don't drown in despair, don't let it win
take all your pain like cobwebs through the years
give it all to me, i want to cry your tears
I've coped so much im numb from pain
when clouds choke the sun i can breathe through the rain
when salty rivers cascade and surround
i search for and find the higher ground
i want to take away your doubts and fears
if you let me, I'll cry your tears

Posted by Elizabeth Seago on 12/18/06 at 12:39 PM This is absolutely beautiful! This poem completely hits home. Reminds me of one of my faveorite quotes, actually. :) “I have learned to love that which is meant to harm me, so that I can stand in the way of those who are less strong. I can take the bullets for those who aren't able to.” - Margaret Cho
Great job, Holly! I hope you are having an absolutely splendid holiday season. |
