My Child

by Leandra K Brossard

I do not weep for you my child,
for you I cry no tears,
Not for all your brokenness,
Nor for all your fears.

I do not weep for you my child,
For you I feel no pain,
Not for all your broken hearts,
Nor for all your shame.

I do not weep for you my child,
Though I once knew how
I cried myself dry long ago,
I have none for you now.

This was hauntingly sad, yet beautiful. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you.
