`` Baltimore

by Amy M Fitch

The trains are passing by.
The tracks only a quarter mile away.
I hear them through the glass of my windows.
Their lonely tunes haunt me.
And they leave me with a chill.

It's a cold night in Baltimore.
Nothing much has change.
Stalwart gray city holds me;
Yeah, it keeps me numb with pain.

I wish I had a tank of gas and nothing but road ahead.
But I'm stuck to wander on grounds I have already tread.
And I know tomorrow is just another day.
But maybe with a little luck I will find my way.
