little pleasures by Rachelle Howe- poetry tag, 12/02 -

little pleasures
are at times the most impacting
when reflected upon.
little pleasures
make the deepest imprints
on the sands of our subconscious,
which even the crashing tide of
our emotions can't wash away...
little pleasures
are the ones that we can
claim and hold to
when Life decides to pay us
a visit
causing delirium and detriment,...
they are the ones that
spawn a solace
while we're enraptured and snared
by the "eye-of-the-storm..."
little pleasures
(sunshine; warm grass; a smile...
laughter; swing sets; even a breeze...)
are the ones that constitute the
constant, sturdy "rug"
that no one,
(not even God, or y o u)
can rip from under shaky, newborn feet. 12/02/2001 Posted on 12/02/2001 Copyright © 2024 Rachelle Howe
