Neon Dreams by D. Xavier BariNeon streets.
Under signs where I walk,
tripping the light fantastic,
high off my own decadence--
past hands that reach,
and eyes that plead,
ingnoring them as I walk.
Neon streets.
Words reach out,
like eye-candied promises,
telling me what I want to hear--
or praying I need,
on my day off,
ignoring them as I walk.
Neon sheets.
Keeping us warm,
as we lay in crowded silence,
and ponder whom we'd like to be.
The American dreams,
etched in light,
ignoring them as I walk. 12/24/2000 Posted on 11/30/2001 Copyright © 2025 D. Xavier Bari
