A poem from my younger days that i think you should read today

by Omi Salavea

A poem from my younger days, though noone in my family really paid attention to it, Montana was the "artist", i was the "smart" one...i'm neither, i just write.

the world is cruel,

but so am i

i runaway to escape it all

though life is still behind me.

i run in fear,

in search of your haven

you open your arms,

to embrace me, as well

as the pain i have brought with me.

we used to know each other

we used to love each other

distance makes the heart grow fonder...

you are so far away

you've shut yourself away

and i've no where to flee

i wish to be near you again

not just the shallow sensuality.

i swear this time i'll not hurt you,

you do not believe

but i am determined, i'll not leave

i will stand here, at your gate

'til the day you open up,

i shall surely wait.
