forever in an instant by Rachelle HoweIMPROV
breath
catches in
her throat,
trapped, while
stomach clenches;
screaming its
displeasure at
the sudden waves
comprised of
indigestible butterflies.
air is bled through the
sponge tissue --
lungs and heart, --
the previously captured
pocket of oxygen
released...
lips in full throttle,
warning
of an up and coming
forever.
[yet all it took --
for time to
go up in flames --
was an instant.]
all it took
was a blink.
