Three Days on a Wish

by John D Uzzell

Just by chance they meet
It’s odd how it always works that way
Walking, you pass, it’s something about her eyes
You think of her all day

The night comes, sleeping is not easy tonight
You wake up with her eyes in your mind
Seeing you see her wondering what to do
A thought of a love so kind

Not by chance, you walk the same way
Looking for the eyes you want
She passes, you see only one thing
She notices you just as long

Going on by, she is thinking what you are
She carries on with the tasks of her day
Knowing what’s in her mind
She thinks she knows a way

Walking the same way, they look for the same eyes
Hoping beyond all the others they see
Searching all the while, together in their thoughts
Stopping they think, could that be?

They are alone, walking with so many
Like there is a line from heart to heart
They stop, they talk he turns and walks her way
Both hoping something can start

Three days on a wish
Granted from heaven above
It’s the only place it could have come from
He knew they were looking for love
