The Cold That Loved Me

by JD Clay

This cold it seems has fallen in love
It brings tears to my eyes and my nose
I get the sweats every time I sneeze
And I ache from my head to my toes

I don't want this affair with congestion
An interlude I'd like to shed
This cough is attached and now it has
A fetish with my chest n' my head

This cold must be a male virus
It doesn't know when to go home
I know that it's here to stay because
I found it's toothbrush n' it's comb

Viral infections may be in style
But I'm looking for a flu bug more hip
It's been recommended by Doctors
Never fall for a postnasal drip
